Northumberland Schools: Top Marks for Wi-Fi with Cambium Networks

By Cambium Networks

Northumberland County Council selects Cambium Networks solutions for a major Wi-Fi overhaul with the help of local ISP KBR, providing public schools with needed bandwidth to support learning and administration.

Located near the Scottish border in the far north or Great Britain, Northumberland is rugged, remote, and sparsely populated, making connectivity a challenge for both accessibility and cost. Nevertheless, as the number and complexity of applications necessary for education, online transactions, and data management increase, even the deeply rural county needed an infrastructure upgrade.

KBR chose cnPilot™ 802.11ac Indoor and Outdoor access points, managed by cnMaestro™ cloud-based network management system, to equip a total of 31 Northumberland public schools. As the county’s population grows, the Cambium Networks solution will scale to meet demand, ensuring that additional users, eventual new campuses, and the applications they’ll need will be supported into the future.

About KBR: We specialise in providing bespoke IT technology solutions to enterprise, local government, hospitality, retail, and education sectors. Building on over 30 years’ experience, we understand that technology requirements are often unique.
