Cambium brings Wi-Fi from the Ground to the Gondola on Italian Slopes

By Cambium Networks   April 6, 2018

Alpe Cermis ski resort in the Italian Alps selects Cambium Networks to deliver high speed last mile Wi-Fi access across their entire property, enabling guests to enjoy seamless connectivity from the lodge onto the lift.

Accessible from the nearby town of Cavalese, Alpe Cermis operates seven lifts transporting winter revelers to various points along 24 kilometers of slope between 860-2250 meters in elevation. Cermis’s Internet infrastructure includes fiber connection provided by local ISP Tecnodata of the province Trentina. To extend connectivity to the furthest reaches of the resort’s holdings, cnPilot™ 802.11ac outdoor solutions were deployed rapidly, delivering service for the busy winter season in only weeks from the resort management’s decision to equip the slopes in October of 2017.

cnPilot not only connects, but with cnMaestro™ network management system, administrators can oversee the entire network from a single platform while users enjoy the simplicity of features such as single sign-on and social login.
