Further Optimizing the PTP 700 MLOS radio for Battlefield Operations

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL, June 14, 2018 — Cambium Networks™, a leading global provider of wireless broadband solutions, today announced that its PTP 700 microwave line of sight (MLoS) solution, as well as associated antennas and accessories, is now available in mil-spec desert tan and olive drab green and muted metal hardware.  Already theatre-tested and proven, the PTP 700 is a reliable, high-performance MLoS radio for garrison, hostile border, sovereign infrastructure, and battlefield operations. The new rugged mil-spec coating and muted metal hardware complete an already military-optimized commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) value for U.S. DoD and NATO defense agencies alike.

“Federal agencies demand exceptional security and high reliability for their mission-critical connectivity,” said Rob Miller, Director, Global Defense & Security solutions, Cambium Networks. “PTP 700 meets their tough standards and provides industry-leading spectral efficiency so that more data can be carried in a smaller amount of spectrum.”

The PTP 700 is fully FIPS 140-2 validated to meet strict DoD information assurance requirements. It is also J/F-12 certified for CONUS and OCONUS use.

The PTP 700 MLoS radio is an ultra-wideband radio that operates in the NATO Band IV, 4.4 to 4.9 GHz, as well as 4.9 to 5.925 GHz, and provides up to 450 Mbps of throughput for streaming video, voice, and data applications. The PTP 700 also includes the following features:

  • Low latency of 1-3 msec
  • Flexible channel widths to operate in 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, and 45 MHz channels
  • Multiple modulation / FEC coding levels ranging from BPSK to 256 QAM dual payload MIMO
  • Compliant with industry standards for FIPS 140-2, MIL-STD-810G, IPv6, 1588v2/SyncE
  • Dynamic Spectrum Optimization™ (DSO) to automatically sense and adjust to maximize throughput performance
  • Point-to-Point and High Capacity Point-to-Multipoint (HCPMP)

“The PTP 700 is proven to deliver high throughput and spectral efficiency,” said Scott Imhoff, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Cambium Networks. “With the new antenna options, tactical masts systems, positioning systems, and color schemes we are providing ever more options for our customers to meet their situational needs.”
