KBR and Cambium Networks: Off to the Races for the Tour of Britain

By Cambium Networks   June 1, 2018

Britain’s largest professional cycling race selects Cambium Networks solutions with the help of British WISP KBR Wi-Fi. Spanning eight cities, the rapidly-deployable, reliable, event-specific Wi-Fi coverage delivered by cnPilot™ keeps up the pace for event staff and spectators, seeing the Tour of Britain through from the checkered flag to the finish line.

For the Tour of Britain’s multi-system network, KBR sought a solution that could be brought online in conjunction with the progress of the races and meet the intense demand for bandwidth given the user density along the course – deploying and operable within tight deadlines, with the capacity to support thousands of simultaneous connections for spectators sharing their excitement on social media.

With cnPilot Enterprise 802.11ac indoor and outdoor access points managed by cnMaestro™ cloud-based end-to-end network management system, each of the eight finish line locations were not only covered, but also meshed together, providing seamless access for official event reporting by local and international media, visitors, and event staff.
