Giving Back to the Community

By Cambium Networks

For most people, receiving their first bicycle is a significant moment in their childhood. It is a gift of speed and freedom that propels their life to a new level. Working with the Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade Organization, Cambium Networks’ team members have assembled and delivered 50 bicycles to give this significant moment to children. Among the many joyful moments in this project is the culmination of delivering the bicycles and seeing that we are in good company. Every year, tens of thousands of people in the Chicagoland area take the time to make a difference in the lives of local children by donating more than 33,000 holiday gifts.

Thousands of Riders Line Up to Donate Toys

While we have all seen long lines in stores this time of year, this event features a twenty-mile long line of 25,000 motorcycles each with a gift for a child. The event’s history is also long as it has now been taking place for 42 years. The parade connects the north and south sides of the city and concludes in a celebration that fills four parking lots where toys are loaded into trucks to make their way to the children.

Each of us is very fortunate, and it is right to give back to the community and share with those who need a hand. The real joy is seeing and feeling the power when an entire community thinks and acts in the same way. Cambium Networks is glad to be a small part of this great effort.

I invite you to watch our video of the Cambium Networks team building the bikes and the parade event.
