Leave No Veteran Behind and Cambium Networks Empower South Shore Vets and Students

By Ray Savich

Chicago non-profit Leave No Veteran Behind (LVNB) partners with American Wide Broadband and Cambium Networks to deliver high-performance Wi-Fi support for the organization’s community-building educational and vocational programs in Chicago’s Windsor Park neighborhood.

Joining forces with local providers of solar technology and video surveillance equipment, tech incubator BLUE1647, and Windsor Park Lutheran Church, LVNB turned the church and surrounding park into a hub of Wi-Fi connectivity. Recognizing the challenges faced by low-income families, veterans, and workers in transition between industries in a shifting economic landscape, LVNB has spent several years designing and implementing programs intended to bolster underserved communities; technology education at all ages, food assistance, and head-start mentorship programs for at-risk youth.

In a time when many urban residents lack Internet access at home to do homework, look for jobs and develop new competencies with online training programs, and access basic resources administered largely online, high speed Wi-Fi access in a safe, welcoming public area offers students, veterans, and other community members to keep pace with the connected world.

About Leave No Veteran Behind: (LNVB) is a national 501(c)3 non-profit organization that invests in Veterans to build better communities through employment training, transitional jobs, and our veteran educational debt relief scholarship. Leave No Veteran Behind invests in heroes who have served their country honorably and who seek to continue their service as assets in communities across America.
