Good network planning depends on having the right technical information in one place and being able to adapt that information to the way your organization works. With the release of LINKPlanner V6.4.3, we are adding new capabilities that make the online planning tool more flexible while expanding support across the Cambium Networks portfolio.
One of the most useful additions in this release is Custom Fields. Users can now add their own information to projects, sites, links and ends. Every organization has information that matters to its planning process, whether that is an internal site identifier, customer information, deployment status or another project-specific detail. Custom Fields make it possible to keep that information directly within the LINKPlanner project rather than managing it separately.
V6.4.3 also adds support for PTP cnReach™, giving users another Cambium product family that can be incorporated into their planning workflow.
For point-to-multipoint (PMP) deployments, we have expanded the options available at subscriber sites. Users can now add a tower switch at subscriber sites, similar to the capability already available at network sites. This provides greater flexibility when modeling deployments where additional switching infrastructure is required at the subscriber location.
Expanded Product and Configuration Support
The release includes a number of updates designed to keep LINKPlanner aligned with the latest Cambium products, configurations and regulatory requirements.
For our PTP portfolio, V6.4.3 adds support for multiband link types for PTP 850E, along with new configuration options for PTP 820A, PTP 850GP and RFU-D/RFU-D HP. These include a 1+0 SD configuration with Internal BBC and 4+0 link types for PTP 850GP. We have also added new PTP 850CX diplexer parts for the 11 GHz band.
Regulatory updates include changes for PMP 450 in India’s 5.8 GHz band, as well as Singapore support in the 5.4 GHz band and updated 5.8 GHz India regulatory settings for ePMP.
For ePMP™, LINKPlanner now allows Flexible Frame support for ePMP 11ax products operating in MIMO mode. The release also updates the surge suppression component specified for the Force 4518, replacing the 56V Surge Suppressor with the 30V Surge Suppressor.
Making Project Information Easier to Work With
Not every improvement needs to be a major new planning capability to make a difference in everyday use. V6.4.3 adds Color Code as an available table column and improves table-view filtering, helping users organize and review project information more efficiently, particularly in larger deployments.
Continuing to Evolve LINKPlanner Online
LINKPlanner continues to evolve as an online planning environment that helps network designers move from initial concepts to detailed deployment plans. With V6.4.3, we are giving users more ways to customize project data, adding new product and configuration support, and improving some of the everyday tools that make larger projects easier to manage.
These enhancements build on our broader goal for LINKPlanner: help users plan Cambium deployments more accurately and efficiently while keeping the planning process closely aligned with the products, configurations and regulatory requirements they will encounter in the field.
