Fast Cars, Fast Connection: Cambium Networks at the Formula 1® Brazilian Grand Prix 2017

By Ray Savich   February 17, 2018

The Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix selects Cambium Networks for Wi-Fi infrastructure to keep concessions sales moving for the massively attended races – the largest annual sporting event in Latin America. With connectivity custom built for the event, a solution with flexible installation and quick activation was an important factor to enable network activation within the schedule.

Food and beverage purchases during the Grand Prix were performed exclusively via dedicated cashless debit cards to promote agility in transactions and security on premises, with a total of 190 devices (card top-up machines) connected to the Wi-Fi network on premises rather than mobile cellular networks.

Cambium Networks cnPilot™ e410 Indoor and e500 Outdoor Enterprise 802.11ac access points were used to provide Wi-Fi coverage to all cashiers in grandstands at the Interlagos Circuit, managed by cnMaestro™ Network Controller, which enabled the communications team to remotely monitor all equipment and network traffic in real time.
