Overview
The City and Borough of Juneau partnered with Northriver IT and Cambium Networks to solve severe cellular congestion caused by seasonal cruise tourism, which brought up to 16,000 additional visitors per day to its downtown waterfront.
By deploying a fully managed, high-density public Wi-Fi network powered by Cambium’s ONE Network platform, Juneau offloaded 20–30+ TB of cellular traffic, supported more than 103,000 unique users during peak season, and eliminated connectivity complaints, all without adding workload or staffing requirements for the city’s IT team.
