Overview
As part of the tender procedure for the purchase of 'Patient Attendance Modes in a Hospital Emergency Department (TOPSOR)' for the needs of 232 hospital emergency departments and their staff, conducted by the Polish Air Rescue, our partner Koma Nord of Gdynia, as a subcontractor of the TOPSOR project leader, i.e. the consortium of Maxto and Sensonics, delivered equipment from Cambium Networks enabling Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile devices used by medical staff in the EDs.
Challenge
As part of the tender procedure for the purchase of ‘Patient Attendance Modes in a Hospital Emergency Department (TOPSOR)’ for the needs of 232 hospital emergency departments and their staff, conducted by the Polish Air Rescue, our partner Koma Nord of Gdynia, as a subcontractor of the TOPSOR project leader, i.e. the consortium of Maxto and Sensonics, delivered equipment from Cambium Networks enabling Wi-Fi connectivity for mobile devices used by medical staff in the EDs.
Solution
Hospital Emergency Departments (EDs) are places where emergency patient care is provided. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, attendants – the staff in the ED are exposed to a harsh stressful and hectic work environment, so they must have seamless wireless connectivity to the IT system.
To ensure wireless connectivity of medical staff devices, the decision was made to create separate Wi-Fi subnetworks with Cambium Networks access points. Koma Nord Ltd. – an IT systems integrator and provider from Gdynia (PL), supplied 496 e410 Wi-Fi access points from Cambium Networks, which were installed in 232 EDs in Poland.

– The free version of the cnMaestro Controller – Essentials version enables no-cost management of Cambium’s Enterprise-class access points and switches, providing several valuable services and features in the package, e.g. four profiles of free welcome portals
