Resilience Bears Fruit

About 3 months ago, the last remaining branch of my old peach tree fell during a severe wind storm. For decades the tree had provided shade and fruit. The branch was almost completely severed – leaving maybe only 15% of the wood connected with the main trunk. At the time, I felt for sure that the demise of this old tree was imminent.

Little did I know about the resiliency of this 30 year old peach tree. Now, only a few months later – not only has the tree survived, it is thriving and continuing to provide delicious peaches. I am absolutely amazed at nature’s resilient design and ability to endure adversity.

Resilient response to an adverse situation and persistence to achieving goals are key foundational principals for every leader to demonstrate.
