We just wrapped up a very busy Day 2 at #MWC2014. I was fortunate enough to visit #Cisco, and view some demonstrations of the #MWC14 WIFI analytics of all social media surrounding the show. With over 70,000 registered attendees, the average total FIRA traffic is running at about 600 Mbps.
There's been a lot of great debate about the amount of capacity required to backhaul Small Cells. When you look at how much capacity is required for this venue, the geographic coverage area over 8 halls, and the fact that we are all heads down connected, you have to ask yourself how much is enough.
Last week, Cambium Networks announced the 450 Mbps PTP 650S optimized in size and weight, and functions in both LOS and NLOS environments. It is ideally suited for municipal level deployments where coverage is challenging due to foliage.
