ROLLING MEADOWS, IL, October 27, 2016 — Cambium Networks™, a leading global provider of wireless networking solutions, today announced that the one millionth path profile request in 2016 had been conducted on the LINKPlanner wireless broadband planning software system on October 22. This is the first time that the popular LINKPlanner network design program had more than 1,000,000 requests in a single year. LINKPlanner software is available at no charge and assists communications network designers to model and optimize performance in wireless broadband point-to-point backhaul, point-to-multipoint distribution and access, and Wi-Fi access networks regardless of which vendor equipment is used.
Network operators are able to confidently extend high-speed connectivity with the LINKPlanner planning tool. “Business and residential users are satisfied, and they are spreading the word for us,” says Gyula Zuber, General Manager and owner of Z-Net, a Wireless ISP in Keszthely, Hungary. “The real reason they are satisfied is because the technology enables us to provide a reliable network that performs to high standards.”
Introduced in 2005, LINKPlanner has planned over 5 million wireless broadband paths and is used by system integrators and network operators around the world. LINKPlanner utilizes the P530 ITU standard as well as the Vigants-Barnett model to take into consideration atmospheric conditions and provide the most accurate Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) link performance predictions for frequencies between 900 MHz and 38 GHz. Designed for ease of use by non-radio engineers, customers regularly comment on the accuracy of the system’s predictions. Most recently, the ability to plan Massive Multi-User MIMO point-to-multipoint networks was introduced to support the planning of Cambium Networks cnMedusa solutions.
LINKPlanner models wireless broadband equipment configuration and provides a performance prediction as well as a Bill of Materials (BoM) and Installation Reports. Results include a profile view of the path so that network operators can account for any obstructions in designing connectivity solutions. LINKPlanner can be downloaded free of charge from the Cambium Networks website.
