ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., March 18, 2015 — Cambium Networks™, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today announced the release of the PMP 450 Access Point (AP) Lite, expanding its Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) solutions. The PMP 450 AP Lite provides network operators with a cost-effective wireless broadband solution that enables the extension of current network footprint to lower density market segments.
“Through our close relationships with network operators, we discovered a need for a product like PMP 450 AP Lite that can be deployed in areas of low subscriber density without sacrificing performance or quality of service,” said Scott Imhoff, VP Product Management, Cambium Networks. “We look forward to helping customers broaden their coverage area with PMP 450 AP Lite and increase revenue and demand for their connectivity services.”
The PMP 450 AP Lite supports up to ten (10) Subscriber Modules (SM) per AP, making it ideal for MicroPOP and sectorized deployments, and other networks not quite ready for the full capabilities of PMP 450. PMP 450 AP Lite allows network operators to extend their infrastructure and reach new customers with lower capital expenditure.
A software key may be purchased to enable the PMP 450 AP Lite to increase SM allowance, thereby using all features of the PMP 450 AP. All other product specifications and functionality are identical to the PMP 450 AP.
PMP 450 Key features:
- Frequency availability: 2.4, 3.5, 3.65 and 5 GHz bands
- 125 Mbps of throughput per access point
- Dynamic Adaptive Modulation – Up to 256 QAM
- GPS synchronization for scalability
- Low latency to support data, video and VoIP applications
