Solomon Islands

Overview

Solomon Islands Government replaced leased lines with wireless broadband to increase speeds while reducing costs.

Citizens expect efficiency from their government agencies. To coordinate functions across the 26 Ministries, the Solomon Islands Government needed to connect the 93 offices in the capital city of Honiara. Instead of leasing communications services, they created their own private wireless network.

Enhanced connectivity enables government agencies to:
- Control recurring IT costs
- Improve inter-government communications
- Deploy IT applications to enable e-Government
